The past general conference made us laugh, cry, and recommit to following our Savior. In order to remember some of the exciting moments we experienced, Eric D. Richards recently created a video highlighting the funniest moments from this past general conference.

Before I went on my mission to France, I read the Book of Mormon, fasted for a day, and prayed to have God reveal to me whether it was true or false. Nothing happened. I had read in the book of Moroni that I would get an answer, and I assumed it would be clear, convincing, and probably somewhat physical. I had forgotten the earlier passages in the Book of Mormon that suggested that its truth could come instead through a more experiential, lengthy process (see Alma 32, for one example).

The Church currently has 162 dedicated temples around the world with 12 more under construction and another 35 announced, including 8 announced this past conference weekend. There is no doubt the work of the Lord is moving forward in all of His holy temples around the world. As President Russell M. Nelson said during his closing remarks of April 2019 general conference:

As we prepare for Easter this month, let us remember amidst the family parties, egg hunts, and bunny trails that we celebrate this special day because of Him—our Savior Jesus Christ. As the video description for a new video posted by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints states, "The love and sacrifice of Jesus Christ is the antidote for every negative aspect of our lives. Because of Him, we can overcome sadness, despair, anxiety, hatred—and someday, even death."

The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced, effective August 1, 2019, the call of Elder Legrand Curtis Jr. of the Seventy as Church Historian and Recorder, a role previously filled by Elder Steven E. Snow of the Seventy.

President Russell M. Nelson of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and his wife, Wendy, along with Elder Gerrit W. Gong of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles and his wife, Susan, will leave in mid-May on a ministry visit to seven destinations in the Pacific. The global faith leaders will leave Salt Lake City on Thursday, May 16, 2019, and return Saturday, May 25. They will minister to Latter-day Saints and friends of the Church during the nine-day trip, including missionaries and government and religious leaders.
