As general conference approaches, and with it the anticipation of sustaining a new prophet, we thought it would be fun to take a walk down memory lane and see how much you remember or know about prophets of this dispensation. From who served as the prophet the longest to who won the Presidential Medal of Freedom, test your knowledge of the amazing accomplishments of these men of God:

I’ve always heard that serving others is the best way to change ourselves. I grew up in a service-oriented home. There are stories beyond stories of times members of my family served those around them. And more often than not, it’s the simple things.

It was easy to go to sacrament meeting, look around at the congregation, and pick out the families that had it all together. The parents were always dressed to the nines in their Sunday best. They would never have a child who didn’t show up to church, never have a son skip Sunday school, or a daughter who threatened to run away.

For eight days, 155 missionaries huddled together in an LDS meetinghouse concerned only with survival after Hurricane Maria ripped through Puerto Rico. But all of the missionaries were together and prepared, thanks to the inspiration President David H. Smart and his wife, Sister Brenda Smart, received.

When the prophets, apostles, and leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints congregate every six months to speak to the world, members and nonmembers are invited to tune in and hear their inspired counsel. With so many ears to hear, hearts to listen, and minds to enlighten, Church leaders turn to the Spirit.

Though most members know that Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon using the Urim and Thummim, they may not know that the prophet also used a separate seer stone "for convenience."

On Monday, the First Presidency shared updates in a resource document for Church leaders that specified adults are allowed to be included in bishop or stake president interviews with their children.
