One couple’s sweet story of falling in love through the gospel of Jesus Christ

Sometimes service in the Church can feel that it is without fruits but service comes to mean more when you see the difference it has made in the lives of real people, especially people you love. On Tuesday afternoon, Seminary and Institute (S&I) teachers, employees and volunteers, in 150 countries joined together virtually for an annual training broadcast, and Elder Ulisses Soares of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles shared his greatest reminder of the influence of the S&I programs of the Church: His wife.

The Family History Library in Salt Lake City temporarily closed its doors as a health precaution against COVID-19. But the closure of the building hasn’t stopped the Church from making the library's resources available. On the contrary, the Family History Library and FamilySearch have used this as an opportunity to make innovative changes to the services they can offer people around the world.

Caleb Johnson and Cory Derfler met in junior high school when Johnson was a peer mentor and Derfler, a student with autism, was in the same class. Their special friendship lasted through high school and during Johnson’s mission.
