The men responded by affirming their religious convictions, emphasizing that the only arms they possessed were not the clandestine military weapons they were accused of hiding in the Monroy family store but rather their sacred texts—the Bible and the Book of Mormon—which Monroy carried with him nearly all the time. Monroy was president of the San Marcos Branch of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Vincente Morales, Monroy’s employee, was also his first counselor.

Everything feels cleaner and fresher after rain. The same is true for temple grounds. The water on the pavement reflects the image of the temple and the sky reveals the quietness after the storm. Each temple radiates a sense of peace which is magnified after storms. Photographer Robert A. Boyd created the Covenant Path Temple Series to capture these moments that can help us appreciate the beauty of the temples in a different way.

Understand that we are mere mortal “babysitters” who can appeal directly to the real Parent. There is no more effectual and answer-deserving prayer than this: “Father, help me to understand and to do what is best for this, thy child.”
