“He is just the gentlest and sweetest person you could ever hope to associate with,” said President Dallin H. Oaks. “And he will always be remembered that way.”
On Friday, the First Presidency said they are praying that “the controversies will end peacefully, and that peace will prevail among nations and within our own hearts.”
“I hope that people could speak more openly about Black Latter-day Saint history and that we could hear more of their experiences. As a Black woman, it is important to me to know of other strong Black people, to learn of their accomplishments and about their lives.”
“We are now encouraging Area Presidencies, in consultation with stake presidencies, to determine on a local basis whether masks should be worn or other precautions should be observed in the various Church meetings and activities.”
All new employees who are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will be required to hold and be worthy to hold a current temple recommend.
