People with ancestors from Mexico can now search the complete 1930 Mexico census for free on the familysearch.org website. With the names of nearly 13 million people, the census is a goldmine for anyone who wants to know more about their Mexican family history. “The 1930 census is the only national census available for Mexico,” FamilySearch project manager Lynn Turner said. “It complements our civil registration and Catholic Church record collections where most Mexican ancestry is done. Now researchers can find their ancestor in the census, and move over to the records that recorded the vital events of their ancestors' lives.”

Two apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints visited Church members in India and Hong Kong to extend their love and blessings. Elder Jeffrey R. Holland visited Latter-day Saints in India on 22 May 2011, and Elder Holland was accompanied by Elder David A. Bednar on a visit to Hong Kong on 25 May 2011. The goal of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles is to train local priesthood leaders on every continent and become personally acquainted with the unique challenges and needs of members from dozens of cultures. The Church now has more than 14 million members, most of whom live outside of the United States.

Mission activities in the Ivory Coast have been suspended because of political unrest and widespread violence in the country. More than 135,000 Ivorians have crossed into Liberia, more than 7,000 into Ghana, and more than 2,000 into Togo. Relief organizations have set up refugee camps in border areas. There are no reports of deaths or injuries among members, according to a Church welfare report. Many member families have abandoned their homes, taking refuge in rural villages or fleeing to Ghana, Liberia, Benin or Togo. Those who have reached locations where there is a Church presence are being attended to by local leaders and members.
