When the list of new mission presidents and companions was released by Church News in January 2020, two of the 130 names may have been more easily recognized: Elder Peter M. Johnson, called to the England Manchester Mission with his wife, Stephanie, and Elder Ricardo P. Giménez, called to the California San Diego Mission with his wife, Catherine.

From a devotional in the Philippines to the NAACP Luncheon in Salt Lake City, leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints have shared inspirational messages over the last week. Here are some highlights from their remarks.

Church leaders have been busy during the month of December, speaking at Brigham Young University, BYU-Hawaii, and Peru. Here are a few quick summaries of what they taught in each place.

We saw many changes announced during the 2019 October general conference, including nine General Authority Seventies who received emeritus status: Elder Wilford W. Andersen, Elder Kim B. Clark, Elder Lawrence E. Corbridge, Elder Claudio R.M. Costa, Elder Bradley D. Foster, Elder O. Vincent Haleck, Elder Donald L. Hallstrom, Elder Steven E. Snow, and Elder Larry Y. Wilson.

Elder James O. Mason, 89 — the former head of the U.S. Public Health Service who also served for five years as a General Authority Seventy for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2019.

Elder William R. Bradford, emeritus General Authority Seventy, former president of the Houston Texas Temple and the Chile Santiago and Chile Santiago South missions, died on Jan. 24, 2019, in Bountiful, Utah. He was 85.
