During a worldwide devotional for young adults, Elder and Sister Renlund spoke about the newest volume of Saints and had some special artifacts with them to help share their message.

“This history is our shared heritage, whether we descend from early pioneers, later pioneers, or if we are pioneers in the faith.”

The upcoming devotional will focus on Church history found in ‘Saints,’ vol. 3, paired with historical and personal accounts.

A new video from the Church allows members and interested friends of the faith to virtually tour the temple with two senior leaders of the Church.

On Tuesday, Elder Dale G. Renlund's older brother, Gary Mats Renlund, passed away. On Thursday, Elder Renlund shared a tribute that gives insight into the influence an older sibling can have in someone’s life.

Sometimes the heavens may feel closed. Sometimes a nap may feel more important than attending church. Both of these feelings are ones Elder Dale G. Renlund felt in his early family life, which he shares as part of the “How I Hear Him” series. Recalling an experience he had as a young medical resident, Elder Renlund knew he could have hurried to complete his tasks at the hospital and make it home for church. Instead, he chose to stall so by the time he made it home his wife and daughter would already be gone for church and he could take a much-desired nap.

Elder Renlund encourages Latter-day Saints to “reach out in love and caring for those who have suicidal thoughts, who have attempted suicide, who feel marginalized in any way. We need to reach out with love and understanding. And you do that in concert with health care professionals, with ecclesiastical leaders, with friends and family support.”

Every Monday morning, I eagerly check Newsroom to see what temples will reopen in the coming week. I feel joy for my fellow Saints around the world as the sealing power is once again available in their country in the first phase of reopening. I marvel as I picture missionaries preparing to serve during a pandemic who have the opportunity to receive their endowment before their departure through temples in the second phase of reopening.

Elder Dale G. Renlund of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles recently shared that because the pandemic has different effects on everyone, personal revelation becomes an “incomparable gift.” He has witnessed this in the Church's response to the present worldwide situation. Latter-day Saints can look to senior Church leaders as an example of how to act on revelation rather than being held back by fear.

When helping to identify images for a last-minute piece of artwork for the new Kinshasa Democratic Republic of the Congo Temple, Elder Dale G. Renlund and his wife, Sister Ruth L. Renlund, recommended something representing the Congo River — second only to the Nile as the longest river on the continent, second only to the Amazon as the world’s largest in discharge volume, and tops as the world’s deepest and the only river to cross the equator twice.

Recently the Ensign shared a beautiful article byBarbara Morgan Gardiner about connecting daughters of God to His priesthood power. This article has been shared by several apostles on Facebook, along with messages about the power of women and how they access priesthood power in their lives.

Elder Renlund and his wife, Sister Ruth L. Renlund, spoke in tandem during the devotional Sunday night which originated from the Brigham Young University–Hawaii campus in Laie, Hawaii, and was broadcast via satellite for young adult members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints around the world.

On January 13, 2019, Elder and Sister Renlund will speak at a worldwide devotional for young adults focused on doubt and faith. "When is a time in your life that you have chosen to 'doubt not, but be believing?' There are times in both of our lives when we have had to rely heavily on our faith," the Renlunds shared on Facebook along with this video invitation:

Elder Dale G. Renlund of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles recently shared a touching experience he had while traveling to Bolivia.

Choosing an eternal companion is one of the most important decisions to make in this life. However, people fall in love and find their eternal companions in many different ways. Even our beloved prophet and apostles experienced times when they had butterflies in their stomachs and unrestful nights thinking about their significant others. Here are the stories of how our prophet and apostles found their eternal companions.

“I did not hear a voice, but it was as if God told me, ‘I have been telling you all along that it is true,’” Elder Renlund said. “That experience changed me. It changed my life. It began a process of belief, a process of being on the covenant path and trying to do more and trying to do better.”

The following is an excerpt from The Melchizedek Priesthood. While Elder and Sister Renlund are addressing priesthood holders in this passage, the council is true and imperative for every member of the Church.

Our prophet and apostles provide examples for us not only through what they do and say but also in what they surround themselves with.

When I was released as a stake president, I was expecting a big thank you from the presiding authorities. I had worked diligently for years and felt I deserved such thanks. The weekend came, and the presiding authorities were focused on the call of the new stake presidency. They were not focused on thanking the outgoing stake presidency. After the stake conference, I felt disappointed.

It could be awkward or uncomfortable to correct someone giving a blessing. But Elder Renlund had the perfect response.

We know the First Presidency and apostles sacrifice much to serve the Lord and members around the world, but sometimes we fail to recognize the women who travel with them, stand beside them, and sacrifice just as much for our Church. Learn a little more about the wives of the apostles.

While speaking at the LDS Business College graduation ceremony on April 13, Elder Renlund shared four powerful principles we should all live by.

All blessings come from God’s total priesthood power and authority. Priesthood power and blessings, by that expanded definition, have been and always will be available to all who qualify for them, without restriction based on gender, birth order, or lineage. This principle can readily be seen from multiple examples in which God’s power was manifest at a time when conferred priesthood did not exist on the earth. Many spiritual and devoted individuals complied with laws that govern reception of God’s blessings, without having received any priesthood ordination. Christian reformers such as William Tyndale, Martin Luther, and John Calvin received God’s power as they translated the Bible and participated in other inspired activities.

The concept of priesthood in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is unique and perhaps confusing for those who are unfamiliar with it. Even many members of the Church who accept, love, and appreciate the priesthood may find themselves “fuzzy” on the doctrine and principles. Perhaps that is because the term priesthood is used in at least two ways. First, priesthood is the term used to describe the total power and authority of God. Second, priesthood is also the term used to describe the power and authority that God gives to ordained priesthood holders on earth to act in all things necessary for the salvation of God’s children. 1 This second usage is the widely accepted definition of the priesthood. For example, Preach My Gospel defines priesthood as the authority and power that God gives to man to act in the name of Jesus Christ in all things for the salvation of mankind. 2 Thus, the same word, priesthood, refers both to God’s total power and authority and to that portion of His power and authority that He delegates to man on earth.

“The Lord directed the blessing that I pronounced on this country,” Elder Renlund said. “He will see that it is fulfilled as the people act in faith.”

Did you know Elder Dale G. Renlund grew up praying in Swedish and spent much of his childhood in Finland and Sweden? Did you also know his middle name is Gunnar or that he and his brother served in the same mission (the Swedish Mission) at the same time?

In their recent face to face event with the youth of Africa, Elder and Sister Renlund shared very powerful lessons all Church members can learn from.

Scripture study is a vital part of maintaining and strengthening a testimony of the gospel, but sometimes it can be difficult to determine what to study as we read the scriptures.

“Now there is a stake in the highlands of Guatemala,” said Elder Renlund. “You realize the Lord is hastening His own work. He’s causing these miracles to happen. He’s blessing the people with the leaders, the faith, and all they need to be established as a stake.”

"We pray for you always," Elder Renlund told the youth in Africa in a special invitation, during which he asked the youth to read James 1:2-8 and Alma 37:35-37 in preparation for a special Face to Face event.

While speaking at a religious freedom symposium, Elder Renlund mentioned a "medicine" that can help a society "that would otherwise be aggressive and sick.”

The sacrament is a sacred ordinance and a vital part of our worship as Latter-day Saints. Because of this, it's important to realize its gravity and importance in our lives.
